We’re thrilled, stoked, and [every possible synonymous adjective] about our 2nd Annual Half-Christmas Celebration. Continuing with our ongoing promise and protest against the Legion of Doom (aka Trump and his goons), this showcase is a benefit show. Join us and the amazing acts that are playing. Bostonian, heavy, unadulterated sludge rock trio Kal Marks (of Exploding in Sound Records) is headlining. They are supported by a motley crew from Santa’s naughty list, they are Dad, Dead Tenants, Monograms, Ghost King, and Megan Talay.
This event will take place on the first-floor stage at The Gateway in Brooklyn (1272 Broadway Ave.). Doors will open at 7:00 PM, music will start promptly at 8:00 PM, and run until approximately 12:00 AM. The event is 21+, and requires a $10 cover charge. All proceeds will be going to benefiting ACLU and NYCLU (donations from NY to ACLU is automatically split with NYCLU).
This event marks our 2nd Annual Half-Christmas show to happen in Brooklyn (as of yet). It’s a tradition we hope to continue. Half-Christmas isn’t religious at all, just an excuse to put festive decorations around your home, drink, listen to holiday songs, and wear Santa hats (…and yes, we have candy canes!)
Kal Marks is headlining this shindig and it’s their first time playing at The Gateway; come through and witness their sludgey, fuzzy jamz. Dad is back with new songs and a pack of cigarettes, it’s a Half-Christmas miracle. Post punk, noise trio Dead Tenants are going to be destroying our collective ear drums. Monograms will be playing in support of their most recent release, Silencer. Ghost King will possess you and melt your brain. Megan Talay will be starting this whole shindig up at 8:00 PM and getting us all in the right mood for this fun, light, goodhearted, and totally REAL holiday. 7:58 PM is approximately the time you’ll walking through the door and receiving a greeting card and candy cane.
